SF: Fav Mexican Spots for Cinco De Mayo

Posted on May 3, 2020May 10, 2020 by hiimynameisalice

1. Tacos El Patron

What to Order: Birria Tacos w/cheese

Link: Yelp

You’ve seen all the hype about birria tacos and Tacos El Patron does it so f’cking good. Order the tacos with cheese and dip dip dip for each bite. Best news is that they’re open for pick up or delivery through Uber Eats during quarantine. We picked up an order over the weekend and it was still as good as ever.

2. Los Hermanos Taqueria

What to Order: Steak and Shrimp Burrito, Quesadilla

Link: Yelp

One thing I think Socal does better is its Mexican food and Los Hermanos Steak and Shrimp burrito could have came from there. Its just that good. Their quesadillas are pretty good too. It’s located in a small market with an eatery inside. The size of the burrito can feed two people, or if you’re just a party of one, the burrito saves really well if you can’t eat it all at once. Plus you can Doordash an order.

3. El Techo

What to Order: Chicharron Tacos

Link: Website

If you live in SF, you know of El Techo. The rooftop eatery is perfect on a sunny day. If you are patient enough to wait, the chicharron tacos are the showstoppers. Plus open for delivery during quarantine (4pm – 9pm) with Cavier.

4. Mezcalito

What to Order: Enchiladas, Burger

Link: Website

Mezcalito has a great atmosphere and a GREAT happy hour. The margheritas and surprisingly, their burger ($10 during happy hour) is really really good. However, the surprising treat is the enchiladas. Enchiladas is not something I ever really order, but I would keep ordering them here. Each bite is like a warm hug. Order for pickup or delivery (4pm-8pm, closed Sunday) through Cavier.

5. La Taqueria

What to Order: Tacos (El Dorado Style)

Link: Yelp

The debate between El Farolito and La Taqueria…we prefer La Taqueria. Perfect for those late light munchies or afternoon snack, their tacos and burritos will satisfy all cravings. You can order their burritos and tacos dorado style for that extra bit of crispiness. Just remember to bring cash. Sadly, its not one of the restaurants currently open during quarantine but one thing were looking forward to when its over.
